I wasn’t always a “CrossFitter”. Tired of the same old workout, I finally gave in to my husband’s persistent suggesting to try CrossFit. After so many years of playing sports, doing Gymnastics and working out on my own, I finally found something I loved. In my busy day-to-day life filled with stress and pressure, I no longer dread going to the gym, but instead I look forward to getting in a good sweat, being pushed by my peers, and engaging in the camaraderie and sense of home Cross Fit Tri-County provides. Even after a year of belonging to Cross Fit, my heart still pounds with excitement before each workout. CrossFit provides that personal “me” time I need each day. Always working to stay in shape, I have finally found an inner peace with the notion of not working out to be skinny, but to be strong. And I appreciate the hard work it takes to get there. These fundamentals were something very familiar to me, as I was raised to be a strong woman. I want to set that example for my children, especially my daughter. A teacher by day, having the opportunity to become a CrossFit Coach allowed me to not only do two of my favorite things at once, but also be able to help others. It’s an amazing feeling to me when someone I have helped starts to see results and understand the movements. CrossFit has given me a great sense of self worth and motivation to always be better. It has changed me, not only on the outside, but the inside, too.
